Xiaomi continues to add evidence about its growth in China although it has only been on the market since 2011, the year in which it launched its first smartphone. Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has collected data from the largest smartphone vendors in China for the first five months of 2014 and found that Xiaomi has displaced Apple from second place, with a 21% market share.
Those of Cupertino are located in the third position with 16% of quota. The ranking is led by Samsung but by very little difference from Xiaomi, since it retains a 23% market share. The rest of the top is drawn like this: Fourth place for Huawei with 10%, fifth place for Lenovo with 6%, which is equal in percentage to CoolPad. In seventh place is Oppo (3%), the eighth corresponds to ZTE (2%) and the ninth to HTC (1%). There is an 11% quota that corresponds, according to Kantar to «others».
