After 14 years of restrictions on its sale, Chinese consumers will finally be able to legally purchase a video game console. Microsoft has managed to get ahead of Sony and Nintendo and is the first of the three to put its main hardware up for sale. The Xbox One can be purchased from today in China in more than 4,000 stores along with several of its titles, although with important absences.
Despite accepting the sale of the console, the Chinese regulatory authorities have been less flexible with many of the Xbox One games. Of the total titles available worldwide, only 10 games will be able to be sold in China, all of them without violent content. The list includes titles such as ‘Forza Motorsport 5’, ‘Kinect Sport Rivals’ and ‘Zoo Tycon’, but leaves out others as prominent as the recent ‘Destiny’ or the next ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’.
via Xbox One opens in China, but with restrictions on the list of available games.
