Although Microsoft decided to stop supporting Windows XP last year, the Redmond operating system is still relevant in the PC market and has more active users than Windows 8 and 8.1 combined.

After almost a decade of patches, the ‘old man’ XP still accumulated 16.94 percent of active computer users in March this year compared to 14.07 of the Windows 8 and 8.1 combo. Of course, Windows 7 stands out as the most used system with 56 percent.

The free switch even for pirated versions to the new Windows 10 could end this trend.
