May 10, 2020
Windows May Update is ready to debut. According to a document that appeared online and posted by Microsoft on the Windows 10 developer community site, the release of the May 2020 update should take place between May 26 and May 28. Therefore, there is a date that at least seems unofficial, even if it is not official yet. The update is highly anticipated, as is always the case with updates that bring substantial changes to the operating system and an improvement in the performance of the computer. Among the new features is a file indexing algorithm that will make PCs with a few years on their shoulders more agile.
Microsoft recently updated the page dedicated to the release of drivers for the various components of the PC. This is a page dedicated especially to manufacturers, where they can find the days when software updates cannot be released. The Redmond company marked the days of May 26-28 with the red marker, dates on which it will not be possible to publish any driver updates. Which is the reason? All the clues lead to the same conclusion: in those days the release of Windows 10 20H1, codename of the main update for May 2020, is expected.
What’s new in the Windows 10 update?
With the May 2020 update, there will be several changes that will try to improve the stability of the operating system (in the hope that no new bugs will appear, as it happens more and more often with Windows 10 updates) and the speed of the PC. Among the main novelties is a new indexing of the files on the hard disk that will allow the computers with less performance without SSD to work in the best way. Also new will be the native Linux engine that will also allow you to use applications designed for Linux operating systems.
