The most consistent rumors ensure that the new smartphone will come in two screen sizes: 4.7 and 5.5 inches. Apple has been reluctant for years to increase the size of its phones, citing that they were not comfortable to use with one hand, but that was a fixed idea of the Jobs era, like not making an iPad Mini. With Cook at the helm, Apple is likely to fold to the taste of the market and launch two versions, one for those who love to notice bulges in the pocket, and another for the more traditional ones.
There is still a shadow of a doubt to definitely consider the two screen sizes as good, and it is precisely the iPad Mini. A larger iPhone could have a very negative impact on sales of the smaller iPad. However, the company’s tablets no longer sell like they used to. The great engine of growth is smartphones, and it does not seem unreasonable that Apple wants to put all the meat on that spit, even if it hurts the iPad.
