The National Assembly (AN) approved an additional credit to the current cat budget of the Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation for 86,630,728.66 bolivars for the installation of Wi-Fi to 5,844 localities in the national territory that will have free Internet access in squares, high schools and other public spaces.
During the ordinary session, the PSUV deputy Miriam Pérez recalled that it was former president Hugo Chávez who promoted the democratization of technology in the country through a decree in which the free use of the Internet was promulgated as a government policy.
