The Chilean Federal security company launched a unique free tool in the country, available for iPhone and Android, that transforms your smartphone into a panic button.

How does it work? Simply download the application for free from the Internet and add up to 10 emergency contacts. In case of being in danger, the panic button incorporated in the application must be pressed and a georeferenced alert will reach the registered contacts and security services that the user has associated with. This way, everyone will know exactly where to go to give help to those who need it.

In its first days of operation, SOSAFE has had more than 10,000 downloads not only in Chile, but also in countries such as the United States, Ukraine and Venezuela. “The reception of SOSAFE among people has been spectacular, because they realize that emergencies are not planned and that, therefore, at any moment something can happen to them or to someone in their families,” says Carlos Fernández, one of the from the app developers.

The application is already available in its first version and can be downloaded for free from the site www.sosafe.cl
