Turkish operators are very busy these days. The blockade of Twitter, of which we spoke to you almost a week ago, is now added that of YouTube, which for a few hours seems to be inaccessible from within the country. For now, as with the previous ban, it seems that this is an easily bypassed DNS block (using another server).
And why are they going for YouTube now? A video of a talk was reportedly uploaded on this website discussing the possibility of a fake Syrian attack justifying a response from Turkey. The leak, which the Government did not like at all, seems to have been the trigger for a blockade that could be seen coming. At the beginning of March, the Prime Minister was already threatening to do so.
via Turkey continues its “war” against the Internet: it now blocks YouTube.
