One benchmark in the electric vehicle market is Tesla Motors for issues such as battery life and the public and private charging ecosystem. However, traditional manufacturers, such as BMW, have also worked on the subject for several years and today they have competitive solutions on the market. The German company wants to present its models in the region and will start in Colombia and Chile with the BMW i3, the electric car of the German manufacturer.
The BMW i3 is made of carbon fiber and has an aluminum body, which makes it a very light car. Although it is not the electric car with the highest acceleration, it does reach 100 km / h in 7.2 seconds. This car has rear wheel drive and a 170 horsepower engine. It is powered by an eight-cell lithium-ion battery that allows a range of between 130 and 165 kilometers per charge.
