The Government will issue an order to regulate the number of boxes that each supermarket and hypermarket must have, according to the footage of the establishment. It will be published in the next few days.
“We are designing a measure that will regulate the number of boxes per square meter that they must have operating,” said Andrés Eloy Méndez, head of the Superintendency of Fair Prices (Sundee), in statements to Unión Radio, who specified that depending on the space each location must have a minimum of open boxes.
He indicated that they were informed that -as a result of the inspection procedures of operative boxes that began over the weekend- some chains had planned to reduce the number of boxes installed in the premises. “Don’t waste time doing that, offer a better service.”
