Android updates are still a delicate matter, especially for users with mobiles that are a couple of years old, such as those with a Samsung Galaxy S3.
What was Samsung’s flagship in 2012 has not been updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, the most current version of Google’s icon system. The company decided not to update this model, supposedly because its technical profile is not complete enough to move this version correctly.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been one of the best-selling Samsung phones in recent years, better even than the Samsung Galaxy S4, and many users have been left without the long-awaited update.
Although we know for sure that there will be no update through official channels, the guys at the XDA-Developers forum do not stop working to offer solutions to problems like this and have just announced an update to Android 4.4 KitKat for the Samsung Galaxy S3. In addition, it is an update that Samsung officially launched for a variant of the S3 with 4G connection that is only marketed in South Korea.
