A team of researchers from Stanford University (USA) has succeeded in converting cancer-containing cells into harmless white blood cells. This milestone in medicine has paved the way in the fight against lymphoblastic cells that cause diseases like leukemia.
Scientists after a casual observation in the laboratory, found a method that makes dangerous leukemia cells mature and become another type of entity more positive for the body such as white blood cells.
Observation of this experiment resulted in the cancer cells in this culture beginning to change in shape and size, becoming macrophages, important cells of the immune system that usually form in response to infection or the accumulation of damaged or dead cells. .
