The Linux distribution called Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) is an operating system intended for use in cars and that will carry an open source platform on board the intelligent vehicles of the future.
AGL’s objective is simply to offer a Linux-based system that, in addition to delivering functionalities from the factory, can be modified by manufacturers and even users, who could install their own applications and make modifications at will thanks to the open source nature of the code. It is also based on Tizen, a platform run by Samsung and Intel and sponsored by the Linux Foundation, the main tutor of its development.
