LG Electronics continues to push the boundaries of the industry with the unveiling of the new G Flex2 at the International CES® 2015 in Las Vegas. The original G Flex earned positive reviews for its innovative and out-of-the-box design. A year later, the G Flex2 improves on its predecessor in every way possible, with a more advanced design, faster performance and most importantly, greater comfort.
The LG G Flex2, features sleeker curves and a powerful Qualcomm® Snapdra-gon ™ 810 processor with octa-core 64-bit CPU for a more agile and smoother performance. Its 5.5-inch screen gets a bump up to Full HD, while the updated software offers even more convenience, through all the new features like Gesture View and Glance View. The unique feature of the original “Self Healing” design is now faster and more effective than before.
Beauty in the detailsThe G Flex2 goes beyond the innovative 700mm radius curved profile of its predecessor. The new smartphone harmonically incorporates a symphony of curves ranging from a radius of 400mm to 700mm at the front, rear, sides and edges from top to bottom. The curved design layers offer a sleek appearance and give a more dynamic look.
However, the curves of the G Flex2 are more detailed, the ergonomic design of the phone brings the microphone close to the mouth, to improve sound pickup compared to conventional smartphones that allow more input of outside noise through the microphone. The slim 5.5-inch curved screen makes the perfect fit for the eyes and the grip. The screen’s 700mm radius curvature also offers a truly immersive viewing experience from any angle, while the steeper 650mm radius curvature on the back makes the phone more comfortable to hold and easier to fit in your pocket. The screen resolution has also been upgraded to 1080p Full HD, making every detail of the user interface crisp and vivid. The P-OLED screen, which the G Flex2 has, gives it its unique shape and durability, and is even more accurate than the original G Flex.
The Most Advanced TechnologyThe LG G Flex2 is the first officially announced smartphone to come equipped with the Snap-dragon 810 processor, with octa-core 64-bit compatible CPUs optimized for Android 5.0 and the advanced Qualcomm® Adreno 430 GPU ™ for graphics performance. This makes the Smartphone incredibly fast and efficient for multimedia and multitasking. The Snapdragon 810 also features Carrier Aggregation’s fully integrated 3x20MHz support for faster and more efficient connectivity.
Additionally, the glass cover of the G Flex2 is approximately 20% more durable, thanks to a special chemical treatment technology developed by LG Electronics. Self Healing keeps your phone looking new, even through daily handling and scratches.
Another innovative technology that is only available on LG smartphones is the camera’s blazingly fast auto-focus laser, first introduced in the popular G3. This technology allows the G Flex2 to take captures at the best moment, even in low light, by measuring the distance between the object and the camera, using a laser beam. Combined with OIS technology and dual LED flash, the G Flex2 provides images that rival traditional cameras.
Practical solutions for user comfortThe improved curved user experience of the G Flex2 carries over to the software as well. It comes fully packed with the best unique LG software features optimized for its curved form factor:
Gesture Shot: makes it easy to capture the perfect selfie with a simple hand gesture recognizable up to 1.5 meters. Gesture View: makes it easy to check your last shot immediately after taking a photo or selfie. – Display key information such as the weather, recent messages, or missed calls by flicking down the curved screen even when the screen is off.Fast Charge – Enables the G Flex2’s built-in 3,000 mAh battery to charges up to 50% in less than 40 minutes.
“The original G Flex demonstrated LG’s pioneering spirit and with the G Flex2 we have refined the curved form factor, which remains true to our philosophy of innovation for a better life. The G Flex2 not only captivates the eye, it also has the guts to be at the forefront of today’s smartphone technology, ”said Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
