The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), under the United States Department of Defense, approved five Samsung computers with the Knox security system for use by government officials.
Blackberry has always been the Pentagon’s preferred manufacturer to provide smartphones used by members of the government (including the president). In fact, Barack Obama had to change his iPhone for a team from the Canadian firm, due to the robust security platform it offers.
But testing by DISA proved the reliability of Knox, Samsung’s suite of security solutions for its mobile devices. Therefore, that agency will add to the list of equipment that could be used by members of the government to the phones Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy Note 3 phones; and to the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablets.
