The Orion spacecraft is now ready for launch …

December 1, 2014

Everything is almost ready for the first launch of the Orion capsule. The ship called to replace NASA’s space shuttle program will take off next Thursday, December 4, aboard the spectacular United Launch Alliance Delta IV heavy rocket. The launch will take place from Complex No. 37 of the Cape Canaveral space base, in Florida, United States.

The spacecraft can be seen partially in the image below the launch abort system that protrudes at the tip of the rocket. The structure that covers the ship will be removed 8 hours before takeoff for final preparations.
