The Californian technology company Apple announced that it will start selling the iPhone 5s and 5c in China from January 17, after reaching an agreement with the telecommunications company China Mobile.
The agreement, after years of negotiations, will allow Apple to expand into the largest telephony market in the world.China Mobile, with more than 700 million customers, is the main telecommunications company of the Asian giant, and as of January 17 it will offer Apple models in their stores.
The announcement was made known in a joint statement from both companies, which, however, does not detail the financial terms of the agreement. Although Apple is the main supplier of smartphones in most of the world, in China it only had a market share of 6% in the face of increasing competition from domestic producers and other companies such as Samsung.
