In essence, what they have done at Frolic has been to combine a low-power bluetooth chip with a small actuator that pulses the bell. The entire system has been 3D printed so that it can be mounted inside an ordinary bicycle bell.
The doorbell has several uses that are managed from its own mobile application. First of all, the device marks on a map the location of the bike when we separate from it beyond the bluetooth range of ten meters. When we return for the bicycle, the application shows the distance in meters that separates us from our mount. If we still do not see it, we can activate the doorbell when we are within the bluetooth range.
