One of the most active hacktivist groups lately, known as SEA (Syrian Electronic Army), was once again the protagonist last morning when it tried to take control of the Facebook.com domain.
ESET reports that the attack was unsuccessful and that control of the domain Facebook.com remains with its rightful owner.
Regarding the protection that domain owners can have in these cases, the IT security company suggests choosing “a good domain registrar”, noting that in the case of Facebook the attack was contained by the company MarkMonitor.
