Going to a movie theater, watching a movie and enjoying the plot, although it is not an exclusive plan, turns out to be limiting for those who suffer from some type of visual and hearing disability.
However, thanks to an initiative of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and private companies, there is already a space adapted so that those who have lost their sight or hearing have the opportunity to enjoy the cinema.
This technique seeks to generate the same sensations and experiences that the rest of the population lives.
The films are screened in the cinemas of Cine Colombia in Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Pereira, Bucaramanga and Montería.
«There are 1 million 200 thousand people in Colombia who have some type of visual disability. Definitely, technology has to be at the service of all these people so that they can have the same options as a sighted person through technology ”, stressed María Carolina Hoyos, Vice Minister of ICTs.
The Cine Para Todos program runs every Saturday at 10:00 am and has no cost.
