Finally, the reform of the Intellectual Property Law in Spain has been approved with the votes in favor of the PP (majority party) and 144 votes against (PDF).
The law will come into force on January 1, 2015 and this will cause changes for all Spanish media and universities, as well as profound changes in the right to private copying.
One of the main changes is the arrival of the “AEDE canon” (Association of Spanish Newspaper Editors), a union between large publishing groups in Spain that has encouraged the Government to make changes to their benefit. But there is much more than canon.
