Sony highlighted in its CES conference the Video Unlimited service integrated into its Bravia televisions, which since September has been offering 4K content (including the Breaking Bad series). To further enhance the material in this resolution, the company indicated that it will work with Netflix’s native streaming in 4K once it begins to work.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings reiterated that his original productions this year will be shot in 4K. The company also announced that it will record the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in 4K. We don’t know if there will be any kind of transmission. It should be remembered that Sony recorded the World Cup in South Africa in 3D in 2010, and some of the matches were broadcast in special places.
