A Reuters article assured that the CEO of the company, Kazuo Hirai, told a small number of journalists during the past CES 2015 that his reforms to raise the company have been successful “in some places but not in others”, and although He noted that the electronics, entertainment and finance business will continue to be relevant to the company, “there are some operations that need to operate with caution, such as television and mobile phones for example.”
In addition, Reuters spoke with important anonymous sources within Sony, who said that Hirai and several executives are open to options such as selling completely, or seeking partners, for their TV units and mobile phones. “No business is forever,” they assured.
