Seagate has presented its new 8 TB hard drive with which to considerably increase the storage of your equipment. With this unit you will gain extra space for your data, but the best thing is that it costs 260 dollars, a rather surprising amount if we consider that the 8 TB unit that HGST offered in the market reached 1,000 dollars (although it includes a sealing system with helium). The unit introduces the new Archive HDD family, and uses the so-called SMR (Stepped Magnetic Recording) technology, which allows more data to be stored in the same space as always.
