Data from research firm Strategy Analytics has revealed that in the first quarter of 2014 Samsgung’s smartphone market share in terms of units sold has fallen to 31.2% from 32.4% the previous year.
Its closest rival, Apple, has also seen its market share shrink to 15.3%, falling from 17.5% in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the Chinese PC giant Lenovo, which has just acquired Motorola Mobility’s mobile phones, has increased its phone sales in the first quarter by 58%, which means that it has reached a market share of 4.7% , compared to 3.9% the previous year.
