TV-Samsung-curvedThe most controversial part of the text of its privacy policy, which was the one that mentioned the use of private data captured through the two microphones of its Smart TVs, has been edited. I used to say this:

If you activate Voice Recognition, you can interact with your SmartTV using your voice. To offer you the Voice Recognition function, some voice commands (in addition to information about your device, including its identifiers) may be transmitted to third companies that convert the voice into text to offer the voice recognition service. Additionally, Samsung and your device may store voice commands and associated texts to offer you the Voice Recognition service and evaluate and improve the functions. Please be aware that if your spoken words contain personal or sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to third party companies through the use of Speech Recognition.

Now it says this another (changes in bold):

If you activate Voice Recognition, you can interact with your SmartTV using your voice. To offer you the Voice Recognition function, we may some voice commands (in addition to information about your device, including its identifiers) are transmitted to third companies (currently Nuance Communications Inc.) that convert speech to text to offer speech recognition service. Additionally, Samsung and your device may store voice commands and associated texts to offer you the Voice Recognition service and evaluate and improve the functions. Samsung will only pick up your voice commands when you request a specific function via the activation button, either on the remote control or on the screen, and you speak into the remote control’s microphone.
