Samsung and Barnes & Noble have announced through an official statement that the two companies are going to jointly manufacture a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 where each one will put what they do best: Korean tablets and Americans their software and experience to when reading electronic books, without forgetting its clear catalog.
The official statement specifies that the first tablet could be a seven-inch model that would include Nook software and Samsung technology. It remains to be seen if the former put something more in the hardware to improve the experience when reading but at first it does not seem that way.
This agreement does not mean that Barnes & Noble will stop producing devices. The Nook GlowLight will continue to be sold and this new tablet will not be a replacement. What they have made clear, yes, is that the distribution will be limited only to the United States.
