Rovio, the Finnish game developer behind Angry Birds and its multiple applications, will cut 130 jobs, the equivalent of 16% of its workforce, according to The Next Web.
The company has a problem. Like many other mobile game developers you need new titles just as successful. However, the mobile market is incredibly fickle and Rovio has yet to launch another app with the same traction as Angry Birds.
The company has tried to evolve the Angry Birds brand with merchandise, toys and cartoons, but during 2013 revenues have been mostly flat.
