Phishing exists on WiFi networks

The INCIBE, the National Institute of Cybersecurity of Spain, has warned that “phishing” attacks, in which users are deceived by means of false emails or pages, have reached WiFi networks. This scam is known as “Wi-Phishing”.

In this type of attack, cybercriminals take advantage of the free networks offered by some public spaces (cafeterias, libraries, airports, shopping centers), and equipped with a discreet device, set up their own network calling it with the same name as the official network, and wait for victims to log in to access their personal data and passwords.
