Paul McCartney has launched a free virtual reality application with which you can see his concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco held last August. The exBeatle thus becomes one of the first stars of music to embrace the experience of virtual reality.
The free app runs only on 5 or 6-inch Android smartphones, released in the last year or so, and uses cardboard virtual reality glasses from Google – the Google Cardboard – that you can buy or assemble yourself at house for a little less than 10 euros.
The ‘app’ displays a 360-degree view, allowing viewers to appreciate everything that surrounds McCartney, his band, the crowd, and the stage. The concert has 3D sound, which changes depending on what the viewer is looking at.
