The manufacturer Panasonic has announced its collaboration with Mozilla for the integration of Firefox OS in its 4K Ultra HD resolution smart TVs by 2015. Although they rely on HTML5, the Panasonic management responsible for this decision seems oblivious to Mozilla’s disastrous results with its operating system in the mobile sector.
From Panasonic they have announced the integration of Firefox OS in their smart TVs with an adapted version, presented as My Home Screen 2.0.
With My Home Screen 2.0, Mozilla gives Panasonic 4K smart TVs a “home panel” with which to access all TV and radio broadcasts, applications and networked devices. One of the major interests of both companies, in this collaboration, is to simplify user interaction with the content offered by the television.
