The North Korean government has tried to hack smartphones of South Korean users through malicious applications- According to the newspaper The Korea Times, the Seoul intelligence agency said on Wednesday that it is possible that more than 20,000 smartphones have been infected of South Koreans.
The malicious applications, mostly games, were published through South Korean web pages between May 19 and September 16, this according to a report presented to the Parliamentary Intelligence Commission by the National Intelligence Service (NIS , by its name in English).
At the moment, the South Korean intelligence service has not reported any real damage, although it considers that more than 20,000 smartphones may be infected.
