During the “Nokia Capital Markets Day 2014” event, the current CEO of Nokia, Rajeev Suri, revealed the strategy that Nokia will follow to capitalize on the high price that its brand still retains in the future.
In addition to confirming that Nokia wants to return to the consumer market, he added that Nokia is not planning to directly manufacture its terminals in the near future. It is possible that third-party smartphones will be licensed under the Nokia brand, since they cannot use that brand on their smartphones until Q4 2016, but they can already license to other manufacturers.
