Microsoft’s latest round of layoffs occurred on April 4, according to The Seattle Times.
A company spokesperson has confirmed that the cuts were notified on Thursday, April 2, most of them produced within the company’s IT division.
In July of last year Microsoft announced the largest cut in its history, 18,000 jobs globally, which the technology giant is doing in several phases.
Previous rounds of layoffs focused on Nokia’s acquired workforce. The affected teams also include the operating systems unit, Microsoft Research, Xbox, MSN, and other engineering and marketing positions.
