WeChat, the popular instant messaging service, also allows payments to be made by linking the user’s bank details with the service account, which has allowed cybercriminals to develop a Trojan that mimics it: Trojan-Banker.AndroidOS.Basti.a.
The Trojan is capable of various malicious actions. When it runs, it opens a special GUI for the user to enter their bank details, including their bank card number, their PIN code, and their mobile phone number, making it a powerful phishing tool.
