Today the happy news for Nest is that its API is now available so that other developers can integrate other devices with their products but unfortunately it is another fact that overshadows this note.
The GTV Hacker community found vulnerabilities in the Nest thermostat that could compromise user security and privacy:
This device, although very useful, if it is not well protected it can allow an attacker the ability to remotely monitor user habits or network traffic.
