Telefónica l Movistar announces the launch in Venezuela of its new 4G + network. This launch occurs after a little more than two months ago the national authorities announced to the Company the award of the radio spectrum in the 1700 -2170 MHz (10 + 10MHz) and 2600 MHz (20 + 20MHz) bands for the offer of mobile services fourth generation.
Starting today, customers will be able to access a network that allows browsing on average 10 times faster than on the 3G network. This translates into a better experience in content services, cloud space, video calls, streaming, games and many other additional multimedia interactions.
With the installation of 240 nodes in the first quarter of 2015, Caracas and Puerto La Cruz will be the first cities to enjoy this cutting-edge technology that will progressively cover the main cities of the rest of the country. This is only possible thanks to the successful experience that the Telefónica Group has in the deployment of LTE technology in 9 countries in Latin America and 3 in Europe.
“The launch of our 4G + network is undoubtedly a great contribution that the Company is making in Venezuela, which consolidates us once again as the main non-oil private investor in the country. This allows us to increase our local investment and reinforces our commitment to provide the best communication options that contribute to the development of the country ”, stated Pedro Cortez, President of Telefónica Venezolana.
