Mini-drones for everyone from Parrot

January 8, 2014

Parrot MiniDroneThe MiniDrone is basically a miniature version of the previous Parrot model, the AR Drone 2.0. It has the same auto-remote control functions, which make it very easy to operate. The downside is that it does not have the camera of its older brother, but it adds something interesting: wheels. It is possible to attach two thin and huge wheels on each side, as seen in the photo above. This allows the drone, in addition to flying with stability, roll on the ground in landings, fly up walls more easily or fly close to the ceiling without problem. They also serve as protection.

The MiniDrone uses Bluetooth 2.0 Low Energy, which should help save battery life, but the problem is that you will have to stand a lot closer to handle it than the larger model with WiFi. And maybe this is better. Since it does not have a camera, it is best not to take an eye off it.

Parrot MiniDrone & Sumo JumpingParrot has also presented the Jumping Sumo. It is, in essence, what you see: a strange robot car that is controlled by tilting your smartphone or tablet. It has a camera on the front that sends the video to your computer via WiFi. It is very fast thanks to its wheels and can spin like crazy.
