The MiniDrone is basically a miniature version of the previous Parrot model, the AR Drone 2.0. It has the same auto-remote control functions from a smartphone, which makes it very easy to operate. The downside is that it does not have the camera of its older brother, but it adds something interesting: wheels. Two huge, slim wheels can be fitted on each side. This allows the drone, in addition to flying with stability, roll on the ground in landings, fly up walls more easily or fly close to the ceiling without problem. They also serve as protection. The MiniDrone uses Bluetooth 2.0 Low Energy, which should help save battery life, but the problem is that you will have to stand much closer to handle it compared to the older model with WiFi. Parrot has also presented the Jumping Sumo. It is, in essence, a strange robot car that is controlled by tilting your smartphone or tablet. It has a camera on the front that sends the video to your computer via WiFi.
