A Bloomberg report suggests that of the more than 127,000 employees, 10% of the staff would be in the cut plans, this being the largest in its history. The last was in 2009, when the company was preparing a restructuring and laid off 5,800 people.
More than 20% of its current workforce comes from the acquisition of Nokia, adding to the rest of employees after its acquisition. The cuts would take place here in the first instance, since most are spliced with other areas, including business.
The company’s legendary video game console area will regret the cut in its marketing division, such as Xbox Global.
