Microsoft has assured that it has “liberated” 4.7 million PCs that were under the control of cybercriminals, in what it has called its most successful operation against cybercrime. As published by Reuters, which cites Microsoft’s digital unit for the fight against cybercrime, the American multinational has identified at least another 4.7 million infected computers. In addition, it has ensured that some functions are still under the control of hackers.
Microsoft has also contacted governments and service providers in affected countries to help users remove the virus. Likewise, it has ensured that the victims are unaware that their computers are infected.
