The security firm Symantec has identified some of these malicious campaigns. In one of them, the attackers send an email that includes as an attachment an alleged report with preventive measures against the Ebola virus. Those who open the file come across the Trojan.Zbot program.
This is also presented with a presentation that supposedly gives tips to prevent the spread of the outbreak, infected with Trojan.Blueso, which in turn installs the W32.Spyrat virus. This program is capable of recording what is typed, recording from the webcam, taking screenshots, moving and deleting files, among other harmful actions.
