Lufthansa revealed that it will outsource to IBM the services of information technology infrastructures, where 1,400 people work, for seven years to reduce annual costs of 70 million euros.
Lufthansa and IBM are still negotiating the final terms of the agreement.
Lufthansa expects to close the sale of its business information technology infrastructure segment by the end of the first quarter of next year.
IBM will assume the 1,400 employees in this segment and will maintain the offices in the German town of Kelsterbach and in Budepest, according to current negotiations.
