A study carried out by the University of Charles Sturt in Australia reveals that Facebook users who describe themselves as’ lonely ‘share the most personal information (hobbies, relationship status, favorite movies, etc.) as opposed to the so-called’ connected ‘on the social network.
Of the total sample, about 616 volunteers, 79% described themselves as ‘lonely’ while 65% who did not consider themselves that way agreed to share all their experiences on Facebook.
Almost all the ‘loners’ (98%) admitted sharing their ‘marital status’ with the general public, instead of restricting this information to just a few friends.
