During this quarter, which ended on June 30, the Chinese manufacturer’s revenue grew 18% year-on-year to $ 10.4 billion.
The company’s profits have risen 23%, reaching 214 million dollars, while the firm has gained prominent positions in market share (third largest manufacturer of tablets) and has achieved an important milestone: selling more smartphones than PCs for the first time in its history.
In this first quarter, Lenovo’s PC sales have increased by 15%, reaching 14.5 million units. It was the 21st consecutive quarter in which the company has outperformed the industry as a whole, grabbing a world share of 19.4% (2.7 percentage points more than a year ago). Lenovo has remained for the fifth consecutive quarter as the first global PC manufacturer.
