Samsung introduced three accessories for the Galaxy Core Advance that will facilitate the experience for blind users. It is an ultrasonic sleeve, a stand with optical text recognition functions and an NFC tag to record voice memos quickly. First, the holster uses ultrasonic waves, in the style of radar or sonar from submarines, to track obstacles ahead of people. In this way, it alerts them, through vibrations or sounds, that there is a danger of impact. On the other hand, the support known as ‘Optical Scan Stand’ and that incorporates a text reader, takes advantage of some functions of the phone so that users can put written documents on the bottom of the gadget and can listen to its content with the smartphone speaker . The stand is activated automatically when a paper is placed in front of the reader. Finally, the company also introduced an NFC tag called ‘Voice Label’, with which it is possible to record voice memos with reminders quickly and in sync.
