If you have a relatively new smartphone and the battery does not reach the end of the day, it is possible that the problem is not the battery or the mobile, but how you use it. A new Alcatel-Lucent study has analyzed dozens of applications to check their use of mobile systems and messaging apps such as Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp are among the biggest culprits in battery consumption.
The problem with these applications is that they are always active, always connecting to the cellular network to receive or send messages. The notifications to alert us that a message has just arrived do not help either, since they constantly wake up the mobile using a lot of battery.
Alcatel-Lucent analyzed the use of dozens of applications by more than 15 million subscribers on 3G in the US, Asia and the Middle East. The result is that the Google Search, Facebook, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and YouTube apps consume the most data and, incidentally, also battery.
via Messaging apps, among those that consume the most battery of the mobile.
