In [Video] Android beyond the phone

July 28, 2014

The Google I / O 2014 developer conference has marked the unequivocal intention of Android to definitely jump to other markets beyond the phone.

Android Auto, Android Wear and Android TV are clear examples.

Currently, more than 30 car manufacturers are already Google partners to launch Android Auto. With this platform the user will have everything they need at their fingertips, such as detailed Google Maps navigation, personalized music lists, radio stations through Play Music, easy-to-use voice search, and Google Now reminders.

These functions can be accessed through the controls in the car, and more importantly, they are much safer than fiddling with the phone while driving.

Speaking of wearable tech, Android Wear extends the application ecosystem. From the wrist, the user can quickly access the information they need at a glance. You just have to say “Ok Google” to ask or do things. As for the home, the point of honor is to conquer the television.

With Android TV, Google wants to give the TV the same level as a smartphone or tablet. Viewers will be able to use voice search to find a live TV show, a music video on YouTube, or install apps that will take away the “silly box” fame from the TV.
