A total of 823 secondary and university education centers, in addition to 17 places in all regions, have joined the Wifi service that was launched on November 25 when the service was installed at the Francisco Fajardo High School in Caricuao, Caracas. To date, the project has reached 169 university villages, 547 high schools and 107 universities.
The Wifi for everyone project is promoted by the National Government, through Cantv, an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Science, Technology and Innovation, and consists of free wireless Internet connection in high schools and universities.
In the Capital District, the Central University of Venezuela, the Bolivarian University of Venezuela, the Francisco Fajardo high school and the areas declared of peace such as Plaza Catia, Plaza El Venezolano or the recovered Plaza Diego Ibarra are some of the towns that already have service of connectivity.
In the eastern region one of the connected study houses was the National Experimental University of Guayana, by the way its rector, María Latuff, reported that this project represents a high impact for more than 7 thousand students of the eight careers taught at the headquarters of Avenida Atlántico in Puerto Ordaz.
