Priv, the first BlackBerry with Android, could be the last phone that BlackBerry launches on the market. John Chen, CEO of the Canadian company since 2013, admits that they will exit the terminal market if they fail to sell 5 million phones in a year.
Five million Privs does not seem like a very large number with the figures that Apple and Samsung have us used to. But for BlackBerry it’s going to be a world.
In their last fiscal quarter they sold 800,000 devices and their market share is below 1%. It will go on sale in November.
